CONCRETE POOL SURROUNDS PERTH

BEAUTIFUL WHEN IT'S DONE RIGHT. BLOODY EXPENSIVE WHEN IT'S NOT.

A seamless concrete pool surround can look unreal.

Clean lines. No little sections everywhere. Everything flows around the pool and ties the whole backyard together.

But here's the thing.

There's a lot that has to go right on the day.

The formwork around the pool needs to hold. The edging needs to stay where it's supposed to. The boys need to know what they're doing. The concrete needs to be managed properly.

Because the last thing you want is the edge caving in halfway through the pour.

That's why we're particular about the system we use and who's on the tools.

When it all comes together, the result looks bloody good.

But it's definitely not a job I'd want rushed.

HONED OR EXPOSED? HERE'S WHAT I RECKON.

You can absolutely go with honed concrete around a pool.

It looks beautiful.

But even with a non-slip sealer, honed concrete can still feel slippery when it's wet.

That's why I'm a big fan of exposed aggregate around pools.

The trick is choosing the right exposed mix.

I'm not talking about big sharp stones that feel like you're walking across hot coals at the beach.

I prefer smaller-stone mixes that are much nicer under bare feet while still giving you that grip you want around a wet area.

And there's another little detail I like doing.

We hone the face of the pool edge.

So when the kids are climbing in and out, they're not rubbing themselves against a rough exposed edge.

It's one of those little 1% things that might not jump out at you in a photo.

But you'll notice it when you're actually using the pool.

RIGHTO, LET'S TALK ABOUT THE PRICE.

With pool surrounds, I actually prefer to give you an approximate price before I come out for a site visit.

Send me some photos, rough measurements, access details and an idea of the finish you're looking at, and I'll normally be able to give you a pretty good indication of where the job is going to sit.

Why?

Because these aren't straightforward jobs.

You've got access, pool edging, formwork, concrete placement, skimmer lids, drainage, glass fencing, the finish you've chosen and sometimes extra manpower just to get the concrete where it needs to go.

So if we're talking completely different budgets, I'd rather establish that before we both start running around organising site visits.

And every now and then I'll get asked:

“What's your absolute bottom price?”

On this sort of job, I'm probably not your bloke for that.

There's simply too much happening around a pool for me to start pulling things out of the job just to become the cheapest quote.

I'd rather price it properly, explain what's involved and give the job the people and attention it needs.

If we're in the same ballpark, then I'll happily come out, have a proper look and work through the details with you.

ENOUGH TALK, HAVE A LOOK AT OUR WORK

DONT JUST COMPARE OUR PRICES

COME AND COMPARE OUR WORK

We often get asked if customers can go and have a look at some of our finished jobs.

Absolutely! But here's another idea.

Why not come and see us while we're actually doing one?

From time to time, we invite potential customers along to one of our scheduled concrete pours.

Come and meet the boys, say g'day, have a chat and see what goes into getting a job done.

I'll happily walk you through what we're doing, explain a few things and answer any questions you've got about your own project.

No sales pitch. No obligation. Come and decide for yourself.

READY TO GET YOUR POUR SORTED?

Between AI, spam messages and the 40 phone calls a week from people promising to make us number one on Google, we've decided to strip things right back.

No contact forms. No mucking around. Just real people having a conversation.

Got a concrete job in mind? Give Benno a call or flick us a text with your name, suburb, a few photos and rough measurements.

Got plans or drawings to send through? No worries, just call or text and we'll give you our email address.

If we're on the concrete and can't answer, we'll get back to you as soon as we're off the tools.

We'll be onto your message faster than a concreter spots free beer at a BBQ. 🍻
