CONCRETE EARTHWORKS PERTH
CHEAPER EARTHWORKS CAN GET EXPENSIVE PRETTY BLOODY QUICK.

Earthworks is one of those parts of a concrete job that we usually prefer to handle ourselves.
Not because I’ve got some strange obsession with watching a bobcat move sand around. 😂
It’s because most of the time, I’m standing there with the laser level working out heights, falls and where the formwork needs to sit.
That’s where the concrete job really starts.
Every now and then, a customer will organise their own earthworks because they’ve found someone a bit cheaper.
No problem.
Until I turn up and check the levels.
Too high here. Too low there. Not enough dug out. The fall isn’t right. Something needs to be removed again.
And now the customer has paid one bloke to do the earthworks... and they’re paying again to have part of it corrected.
I hate seeing that.
Saving a few hundred dollars at the start doesn’t feel like much of a saving when you’ve got to bring the machine back for round two.
That’s why, wherever possible, I like our concrete crew and earthworks to work together.
The bobcat operator knows what we need. I can check everything with the laser as we go, set the formwork and know exactly what we’re pouring onto.
Do it once. Get the levels right. Pour the concrete.
THE LASER DOESN’T LIE.
You can stand back and reckon an area “looks about right.”
That’s fine until you put a laser over it.
Here’s a perfect example.
If the earthworks are only 20mm too high over 100m², that’s roughly 2m³ of extra concrete needed to make up the difference.
That can be another $600–$700 in concrete alone.
And if we’re wheelbarrowing or pushing that concrete any sort of distance, now you’ve also got extra labour and extra time on the job.
It adds up bloody quick.
That’s why I’m usually there with the laser while the bobcat is working, checking heights, setting formwork and making sure we’ve actually got the room we need for the concrete thickness and preparation.
A few millimetres might not look like much when you’re staring at dirt.
Over a big area, it can cost real money.
That’s why I’d rather get it right once.
DONT JUST COMPARE OUR PRICES
COME AND COMPARE OUR WORK
We often get asked if customers can go and have a look at some of our finished jobs.
Absolutely! But here's another idea.
Why not come and see us while we're actually doing one?
From time to time, we invite potential customers along to one of our scheduled concrete pours.
Come and meet the boys, say g'day, have a chat and see what goes into getting a job done.
I'll happily walk you through what we're doing, explain a few things and answer any questions you've got about your own project.
No sales pitch. No obligation. Come and decide for yourself.
WANT TO COME AND SAY G'DAY
Give Benno a call or text, and we'll let you know when there's a suitable pour coming up.
READY TO GET YOUR POUR SORTED?
Between AI, spam messages and the 40 phone calls a week from people promising to make us number one on Google, we've decided to strip things right back.
No contact forms. No mucking around. Just real people having a conversation.
Got a concrete job in mind? Give Benno a call or flick us a text with your name, suburb, a few photos and rough measurements.
Got plans or drawings to send through? No worries, just call or text and we'll give you our email address.
If we're on the concrete and can't answer, we'll get back to you as soon as we're off the tools.
We'll be onto your message faster than a concreter spots free beer at a BBQ. 🍻
