Council Approval Is Required
Before any crossover can be installed, council approval is legally required.
Most councils will ask for:

Basic measurements and site details

How to Measure Your Crossover (So We Can Quote)
To give you an accurate price, we need three measurements:

Body width of the crossover (straight section)
-
Wing widths (usually .5m -1.5m each side, council dependent)
-
Total length from kerb to Boundary line.
If you provide some photos we can give you a price for Earthworks as well.

From $2,500 – $3,200 inc GST
🔹 Standard Single Crossover (20–30m²)
From $3,500 – $4,500 inc GST
🔹 Large / Double Crossover (30–45m²)
From $4,500 – $5,800 inc GST
🔹 Extra Large Crossovers (45m²+)
From $5,800+ inc GST

⚠️ Commercial crossovers and crossovers on busy roads may require traffic management and additional safety measures, which will affect pricing. These are quoted separately.
Residential Earthworks & Demolition Pricing (If Required)
Most crossovers need more than just pouring concrete.
If the verge needs digging, old concrete needs removing, or levels need fixing to meet council specs, earthworks will be required.
This is often the biggest part of the job.
Minimum Earthworks Charge — $900
This applies to all jobs that need excavation or demolition, even small areas.

Bobcat & licensed operator

We are there with the Bobcat to ensure all the levels are correct.

Demo saw to cut existing concrete

Removal of soil and broken concrete to tip

Initial base preparation
👉 This is the cost just to get machinery and crew on site and start the job properly.
Why Earthworks Varies So Much
Earthworks cost depends on:

How deep we need to dig

How much soil and concrete must be removed

How much base needs to be rebuilt

Council verge and kerb levels
Two crossovers the same size can have very different earthworks costs depending on what’s underneath.
